Flamboyance at its BEST

Vijay Mallya is known for his flamboyance and style. If you have got money, you gotta enjoy life and flaunt it, exploit people. So true, I am completely gasped by this man and his style and would never condemn any of the practices that he follows. So much so, Vijay Mallya is the generalized term of flamboyance and style, for the way he lives and parties. Many can only aspire to live that kind of lifestyle.

If you feel and think, Vijay Mallya is, think for a moment again and the other name which comes is Mayawati. MAYAWATI……!!!!!!! #$%%^&*@? ?????
Yes, our very own Behanji, didi and mata for many homeless, destitute, lower class people of Uttar Pradesh. OK, well not in the same manner. Or some may say, the parallel drawn is not too interesting. We are talking about flamboyance.

Mayawati surely gives Mr. Vijay Mallya, a huge competition for turning his position in flamboyance. She is extremely flamboyant and classy when it comes to honoring dates of her party (Elephant, Bahujan Samaj Party) and the dead people of her party and herself. Mayawati’s birthday, her party’s founding, winning, losing day (God knows which all days are celebrated), Kanshi Ram’s birthday, death day, AMbedkar’s birthday or whichever way she feels.

Every time, the Opposition raises hue and cry over her flamboyance, which they say is unacceptable. Because she celebrates on public money. Everybody can splurge with his/her money, but to do it in style with the State exchequer is the highlighting factor of Mayawati.

Better part is not the celebrations, but the unveiling of new standing monuments of Elephants, Ambedkar, Kanshi Ram, Mayawati. Mayawati’s birth date is celebrated as Swabhimaan (Self-respect) diwas for the sake of all oppressed classes. How much self respect they have achieved ever since Mayawati has been in power? Or better I’d say the Oppressed are still the Opressed under the Oppressed. Oppressed has no relation to the economic status but to the tag they carry of their DALIT caste.

The whole State machinery is moved back and forth for her celebrations. We have heard it all, the statues of Ambedkar, Maya and Elephants, the parks for them, ladoos (which consume enough raw material to feed the entire India for a day), PWD officials working overtime, stage, Mughal-e-Azam sets, her penchant for diamonds, Developmental money coming in trunks, 25,000, 50,000 or 1,00,000 odd people celebrating for the occasion.

This time, it was above it all, I was surprised to look at the elegant and beautiful shape of flowers of her garland, which when opened can wrap the whole of Uttar Pradesh or the money spent on garland can help in constructing 100 elephants (on the conservative side). You look carefully and the garland has been made from 1000 Rupee Notes. Clearly hats off to Mayawati, in the times, when people are thinking about making love to save condom costs and the Govt. is preaching austerity (of course Govt. and Mayawati are in Opposition), but who cares.

Who preaches and who listens? As a famous researcher once said, “God exists, you arrive in UP/Bihar and you realize, yes certainly God does exist”.
As for our didi, she is guided by the Constitution of India, written by Ambedkar,
to the people,
for the people and
by the people.

SMS - Sonia Manmohan Singh

The way the world economy came tumbling down during January – March 2009 and bad news popping up from every corner of the world. Congress led UPA Govt. were in deep conundrum in the election season, what to say and what to do? Had the crisis not happened, Congress couldn’t say anything because of their poor performance at the Centre. Their alliances were always nibbling in the tug of war. But it managed to spend five successful years at the Centre. Successful as they managed to complete five years, that’s it. Nothing besides that.

The way India didn’t go into deep recession was one of the master stroke from SMS duo (Sonia-Manamohan Singh). Somehow I always believe Congress may not have done something as blasphemous as BJP but still we are lot better because of them. There was lot of speculation, desperation as to who will form the new Govt. People were shit scared of third-fourth-fifth front that was contemplating of forming Govt. by rubbing their backs against BJP and Congress. BJP lacked a phenomenal statesman and politician amongst them. Vajpayee, the stellar personality in Indian politics.

Fast forward to May 16, the results are out, Congress won more than 200 seats. A magical performance, it was like Sachin has scored double century in limited overs cricket and taken a hat-trick, esp. when he is lurking in bad form. The markets gave nobody a chance to sniff and quickly shot to 20% unlike last time, when change in regulations was sought to impose circuit limits. Now suddenly everything seems to be good and economic guerilla hitting everybody has taken sabbatical. Mind you guys, it has still not gone.

Still the best part of election I believe was not Congress getting 200 seats but some bad mouths and ill mouthed people getting a bantering in the elections. It is one of the remarkable feature of these elections and that is what it should be remembered for. People like Advani have been shown the door, that you are and never were worthy of leading the nation. Just remember where you came from and where you have to go. Ram Naik lost, the old pig who used to drink gasoline instead of water during his stint as Minister in NDA. Sajjad Lone, whose only mission is to behave with poor Kashmiri people as if they are refugees in India. Ram Vilas Paswan, LJP, which believes they can change the landscape of Bihar. First they need to think about themselves. Laloo lost from one seat, people of Bihar realized the time is near and not far when they will be rebuked in their own homeland as Nitish taught them how to dream and Laloo kept them in loop. Behenji was snubbed in UP. Just hope, she realizes she has reached the end of the tunnel, she cannot rise above Chief Ministership. PM’s post is not for kachre wali bai but for some educated people with little sense of dignity to carry the nation forward. I am sure, she would have razed the Parliament House and build a statue of Dr. Ambedkar and gift every visiting Prime Minister/President with a statue of Mr. Ambedkar. Shiv Sena got a drubbing, they couldn’t do much development in their times, they couldn’t promote the Marathi manoos issue and address their concerns and have given the fractured mandate to Manse (Raj Thackeray). He has not won but will be a force to reckon with in Maharashtra in next elections.

The most remarkable feature about elections was the drubbing that LEFT party received in its strongholds in Kerala and West Bengal. It is not something to be believed but fortunately has happened. The poor finally arrived on the scene, don’t protect our Rights saying that we are POOR. We are asking for them as we have equal rights to it and would like to give Mandate to somebody, who can transform us from poor to lower middle class.

The kind of cheers SMS have got, I fear they may not be able to achieve the same. The external factors and forces are pushing India into a new demography. Suddenly we will see the issues that were our concerns in elections and in last five years will cease to exist and a new set of bloody issues shall shoot up, which have very little relevance in our day to day lives.

National Security, relationship with our neighbours, diplomacy with USA, Taliban in Pakistan, rising fiscal deficit, huge debt of the Govt. are some of the key issues that are at the centre-stage for SMS to handle. Allies nibbling and ribbling for portfolios may be taken care off smoothly and indeed has been. All’s well than ends well.

My Best Wishes to SMS.
Make the most of it.
